ohn Cannon Homes was founded in 1987, but the vision for the company began many years before. John Cannon graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in building construction and first came to Sarasota, Florida in 1979 to work for a national builder. The job soon expanded to cover the builder's Sarasota, Bradenton, Naples, and West Palm Beach properties.

With creative networking and some creative financing, John and Phillipa Cannon designed, built and sold their first home at Misty Creek in 1990, and that was quickly followed by construction of three new homes. In their second year, they built eight new homes, and the business grew rapidly thereafter. Today, both John and Phillipa continue to play an active role in the daily operations of their business.

Building a reputation through hard work
Hard work and determination is what has enabled John Cannon to build over 1,000 luxury custom homes in more than 100 of southwest Florida's most prestigious communities. Since its inception in Sarasota, John has expanded his home-building craftsmanship to include Manatee, Charlotte, and Pasco and Hillsborough counties.

In Sarasota County, John Cannon Homes has established a reputation for excellence by building in the upscale communities of The Forest at Hi Hat Ranch, The Founders Club, Sarasota National, Silver Oak, Prestancia, and Turtle Rock in Palmer Ranch, The Oaks, Sarasota Ranch Club, The Hammocks, North Creek Estates, and Siesta Estates.

John Cannon Construction specializes in the vertical integration of services; providing design, space planning, construction and financing, along with tenant improvement services.

John Cannon Homes Remodeling provides customers with an exceptional home remodeling experience. From home additions to interior renovations, our 20 years of expertise in building custom homes with a full service team and complete design center make home remodeling projects a pleasure.

John Cannon Property Management Services will complete the construction on stalled, foreclosed properties; manage completed properties while overseeing necessary repairs; schedule maintenance; and assist in the marketing and selling of these properties to qualified buyers. This division will assist banks and other lenders with their other real estate owned properties. John Cannon will work with the lenders' appraisers to establish the true construction costs and values.

John Cannon Distinctive Interiors provides clients with many services. As an additional service to those building a John Cannon Home, we provide space planning, drapery and privacy window treatments, furniture as well as the finishing touches. It is not a necessary to own a John Cannon Home, our interior design services are available to any one who desires or is looking for the luxury, and richness as shown in John Cannon model homes.

In addition to leading a team of Certified Residential Construction Supervisors, John Cannon is a certified, licensed Class "A" Contractor in the state of Florida. This allows John Cannon to build any type of structure within the state of Florida.
