Purchasing Agent/Estimator

Local Custom Home Builder in search of an experienced, self-starter who can prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of complete cost estimates on conceptual, design build or general tender work. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience working in the area of construction purchasing and estimating. Moreover, a sound understanding of home building, traditional subcontractor work scopes, construction systems and methods, construction specifications and building codes will be required. Accounting, Database and Timberline experience are a plus; advanced quantitative and computer software skills are a must.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze construction drawings, specifications and scopes of work then perform takeoffs to determine the necessary duration, materials, quantity and cost implications for all product offerings

Develop all construction cost estimates and input the data into the Company's database system to facilitate the issue of purchase orders

Maintain all records and contract terms related to each Trade Partner, including unit costs for all goods and services purchased in connection with the construction of new homes

Evaluate trade partner quotes and quality of goods and services to determine most desirable suppliers/trades

Manage and estimate all requests for custom option pricing occurring during the sale and construction of new homes

Manage and maintain costing data for community specifications, standard option offerings, and sales collateral

Work with construction team to review, analyze, revise and create standardized scopes of works for new home construction

Monitor progress and liaise with construction team, sales, design, and trade partners to resolve questions
