Builders Reap Design Awards

Builders reap design awards

Model condominiums and houses that were entered in the Parade of Homes were judged on the basis of curb appeal, floor plan, kitchen, master bath and architectural detailing.

For the judging, model residences were separated by price groupings that were unknown to the builders. The pricing represents the model sales price, excluding all furnishings and drapes; site development fees and costs; landscaping (sod and irrigation); lot; pool (pool cage, fencing); driveway and walks; permit fees; impact fees; water and sewer or septic/well utility costs; site clearing; and fill and grading.

John Cannon Homes led the competition with four "best overall" awards, which are segregated by price category. Lee Wetherington Homes and Gibraltar Homes had two "best overall" awards each. Others were won by Pulte Homes, Sam Rodgers Homes & Neighborhoods, Ray Delany Inc., Wadsworth Construction, Savannah Preserve Inc., Ramar Group Companies Inc., Neal Communities, Bruce Williams Homes, Medallion Homes, Peregrine Homes and Arthur Rutenberg Homes/M. Pete McNabb.
