John Cannon Homes and Medallion Home were the top winners in the single-family category in the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association’s 2020 Parade of Homes.
John Cannon won six “best overall” awards while Medallion picked up four among the 25 categories based on home prices that were handed out Thursday night.
Medallion Home again bested other builders as the champion competitor, picking up a total of 42 wins.
The awards come in five categories, plus an overall winner. The categories on the winners’ list are from entry level (Category 1) to the highest-priced homes (Category 25 in single family).
The winners were announced at the association’s gala Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota that attracted a crowd of some 400 guests.
Various out-of-town judges reviewed 97 model entries as well as landscaping, pools, green residences, interior design, remodeling and, on a larger scale, developments throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties. Three new categories were added to the awards this year. The first, Best Custom Award, was won by Bruce Williams Homes. The second new category, Remodel Overall Award (for partial house remodel), went to Gator Construction of Manatee County. Santos USA Construction swept the Hardscaping Category for its work at Ravenna at Aria and The Riviera at The Concession.
The Parade of Homes continues through March 15. For more information, go to www.paradeofhomesinfo.com.
