Chris Wille: Venice Mansion sets real estate sales record

Multimillion-dollar homes abound in Sarasota County — hundreds and hundreds, by Zillow’s
count. Mansion prices stretching across eight digits are rare, though.
Records are tough to top, too. This one is notable for its location where sales of high-end
homes were sluggish over nine years.
The highest-priced home sold so far in 2018 in the Venice and mainland Nokomis area fetched
$3.25 million recently. The mansion, at 419 Bayview Parkway, also commanded the highest
price of any home on the parkway, Michael Saunders & Co. said.
Located on Dona Bay in the Venice area, this custom-built John Cannon home features
designer upgrades and deluxe styling, the company said. The property offers picturesque views,
deep-water access and close proximity to the Gulf, which certainly is appealing to boaters.
Michelle Hupp, of Michael Saunders & Co.’s Venice office, marketed and sold the property.
She also sold the house nearby at 525 Bayview Parkway in July of 2017 for $2.2 million after
only 11 days on the market.
“It was a pleasure marketing this home, especially as it is one of my favorite streets on the
mainland — truly a beautiful parkway, offering the most astonishing homes in the area,” Hupp
said in a company statement.
