Thanks to the generous two-year pledge of $100 for each new home built, John Cannon Homes of Sarasota has set the benchmark for other builders in Florida in the Opening Doors for Kids campaign.
John Cannon understands that the shortage of skilled labor is a pressing concern for the entire industry. "We must begin now to build our own workforce and the best way to do this is through the Future Builders of America program," said Cannon.
T.J. Nutter, Chief Operating Officer of John Cannon Homes, works closely with the Sarasota High School Future Builders Chapter. John Cannon Homes donated $1,000 to that chapter. Nutter was also instrumental in the Foundation benefitting from the Sarasota HBA Fishing Tournament the past two years. The Association donated $10,000 each year to help endow a scholarship program for Sarasota students.
This corporate donor-based program is designed to enable a builder to pledge an amount per each home built over a year. Funds raised will be used to develop and support the Future Builders of America program, sponsor scholarships and help purchase and build the Leadership Training Center to host the annual FBA camp.
